Neonatology is a subspecialty of pediatrics that focuses on the care of newborn infants, particularly those who are ill or premature. Neonatologists are medical doctors (MD or DO) who have completed additional training in newborn care. They work in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) and other hospital settings to provide comprehensive care for newborns.
